Raised in country New South Wales, Australia, Aaron began playing the guitar at age 10 after being inspired by Stevie Ray Vaughan. He was influenced by his father’s record collection, especially by great blues musicians like BB King, Buddy Guy, Little Walter, Jimmy Reed and Howlin’ Wolf.
After years of being a sideman musician – playing other people’s music – Aaron has started leading his own band, where he can play the music that excites him; the legendary African-American styles of Soul, Blues, Funk, Jazz, Gospel, R&B etc. and especially the music of New Orleans.
The Honey Sliders are the new 70’s inspired blues/boogie project for three-time ARIA Award-nominated singer-songwriter Danny Widdicombe.
The rock, soul, country, blues act comprises the cream of Brisbane’s musicians. Dan Mansfield (You Am I, The Gin Club), Chris Bosley (Resin Dogs) and Ben Carstens (Mexico City).
Their love of music from the ‘golden age’ of rock n roll records from 1965 – 1975 is a huge influence on their sound.
West Texas Crude is an award-winning and dynamic four-piece band Performing since 2000. West Texas Crude’s main musical influences are rockabilly, country, rhythm and blues, roots music and rock and roll, and covering some more current artists in our own special way.
Playing many festivals over the years and multi-award-winning performances including Blues on Broadbeach, Groundwater Country Festival, Tamworth, Ballarat Beat, Camperdown Cruise, Greasefest to mention a few.
