Sunday, 13 May 2018 is the day of the year we devote to saying thank you to Mums all over the world. We know that every Mum is unique, but we think you’ll find the perfect way to say thanks at the Saturday Fresh Market and the Sunday Discovery Market.
Once you’ve taken her out for a delicious breakfast and coffee in the Markets Food Court, browse through the aisles and you’ll find these goodies:

1. Beautiful blooms
Why do we give flowers as a Mother’s Day gift? For one thing, flowers symbolise fertility, which definitely suits the occasion. Not to mention, who doesn’t love a beautiful bouquet bursting with colour and fragrance?

Mother’s Day bouquets traditionally consist of carnations, roses or tulips, but don’t let that limit you! Flowerlovers and Lynch Market Flowers are two stalls completely stuffed with bouquets of different sizes, colours and shapes that will suit any budget.

Worried about the fleeting nature of a bouquet of fresh flowers? Well, we’ve got something for that too. Floralicious at the Sunday Discovery Market specialises in very realistic wooden roses that will never wilt away. For a couple of dollars extra you can spring for a bouquet of wooden roses and chocolates – how good is that?!

2. Jewellery for all styles and budgets
Mum’s like getting bling too. If you don’t want to spring for diamonds, we’ve got plenty of options here for you. The Saturday Fresh Market and Sunday Discovery Market host several stalls which sell beautiful necklaces, bracelets and earrings. In Aisle 6 every Sunday, you’ll find Joan who sells real, hand strung pearl jewellery. Her pearls come in a range of colours and sizes, and you’re guaranteed to find something to dazzle Mother Dearest.
The Markets are a mecca for Stallholders selling vibrant, handmade products at competitive prices. Support your local artisans and you’ll never want to visit a chain jewellery store again!

3. Gourmet delights
Spoil Mum with the vast collection of gourmet goodies at the Saturday Fresh Market. The Little Gingerbread Cottage bakes delightful Mother’s Day themed gingerbread fresh for the Market (pictured right). Because doesn’t everyone want to be told they’re loved by cookie-gram?
If you’re looking for other tasty sweets Kokoa Bliss can sort you out with a delicious platter of chocolate tarts, chocolate coated dates or ginger, and a slab of rocky road that will leave you wanting more.
There’s also bakeries aplenty for flaky, sweet pastries – try Sprout Artisan Bakery in Aisle 3, or Le Petit Francais Oz in Aisle 4.
For those with more savoury tastes, visit Maleny Cheese in Aisle 3 for hard and soft cheese, and Backa or Grobnik Smallgoods for cured meats to make a charcuterie platter that’ll knock Mum’s socks off!

4. Knick knacks and giftware
There’s gifts aplenty at the Saturday Fresh Market and Sunday Discovery Market.
If you’re shopping on a Saturday, check out Blooming Tea in Aisle 2. With tea like you’ve never seen before, tea strainers and special Mother’s Day mugs, you’ll find something for the discerning tea aficionado. Also, make a note to visit Doterra Essential Oils in Aisle 3 for beautifully fragrant oils, diffusers and salt lamps.
The Sunday Discovery Market has a vast and ever changing catalogue of potential gift ideas.
We’ve got phone cases, perfumes, handbags, shoes, handcrafted timber signs and so much more. No matter the hobby, you’re bound to find the perfect gift for Mum browsing through 300 stalls on Sunday.

5. Luxuriate with candles and bubble bath
Give the gift of relaxation with a collection of beautiful soy candles courtesy of Coastal Soy Beams. With a range of different scents, sizes and shapes there’s a candle for every Mum available on Saturday.
Or if your Mum deserves to destress, our Sunday Discovery Market plays host to a variety of stalls selling soaps, bath bombs and bath salts.
With these amazing gifts you’ll give the gift of a relaxing spa day from the comfort of home!

We’ve given you a whole bunch of ideas, so go forth! The Markets are a wonderful place to find a Mother’s Day gift. Or you could ditch the gifts altogether and show Mum some appreciation with breakfast and a morning out at the Markets. We’ll see you next weekend!
